Glenn Jones Glennz aka Glenn Jones is an Auckland-based artist and creative director. Originally trained as a graphic designer Jones spent time overseas before returning to New Zealand in 2003. He is an internationally renowned t-shirt illustrator for Threadless, having sold in excess of 50,000 designs.
Influenced by popular culture Jones draws inspiration from popular 1970s and 1980s television and movies, such as Star Wars (for his piece Dark Side of the Garden) and MacGyver (What Would MacGyver Do?).
A recent collaboration between Jones and Artrite New Zealand has resulted in the development of the Glennz t-shirt illustrations as a range of fine art prints. Each print is personally signed, numbered and embossed with seal of authenticity. The designs are printed on Fabriano Artistico white 300 gsm paper (50% cotton with archival quality) using UV lightfast ink to eliminate light fade. Artrite, leading specialists in limited edition prints, already count many top local artists including Dick Frizzell and Michael Smither among their clientele.
Now exclusively available from Momentum Gallery is the Glennz limited edition print Calling Home. Additions of further Glennz fine art prints are expected in the near future at Momentum as part of an exclusive distribution arrangement. www.threadless.com
